Looking for some fun party games for your summer outdoor party? Here are five party games your guests are sure to love:

1. Horseshoes

Equipment You’ll Need:

Two horseshoe stakes

Four horseshoes

To play

Divide players into 2 teams. Each team is given 2 horseshoes.

A player from the first team should pitch both horseshoes, one at a time, toward the stake from anywhere behind the foul line. (For adult male players the foul line is 37 feet from the stake, and for female, elderly, and junior players it is 27 feet).

Shoes within 6 inches of the stake get 1 point, shoes encircling the stake (but not touching) earn 3 points.

Alternate pitching from one end of the court to the other until all players have pitched.

Play until one team reaches 40 points, or until 40 shoes have been pitched (the highest score wins).2. Putting or Chipping Contest

Equipment You’ll Need:

Chipping net or box

Golf balls

Putters

To play

If you hit the net/box it’s one point.

If your shot lands in the net/box it’s three points.

Everyone gets the same amount of shots (depending on number of players. Keep it moving fast!).

Player with the most points wins!

If you have a flat area you can do the same thing with a putting contest.

3. Balloon Wars

Equipment You’ll Need:

10-15 baloons

To play

Form a few groups. Give each group 5 balloons. Each team chooses someone to guard their balloons. Two or more people get to be the “snatcher”. The remaining people in the teams form forts and guard the balloons . The “Snatchers” try to snatch ballons from the other snatchers and forts. The people that are the must protect their balloons. After a set amount of time the team with the most balloons from other teams is the winner.

4. Ghost in the Graveyard

Equipment You’ll Need:

None

To play

Choose a home base location. It should be something you can touch or step on. Next choose a person to be the “ghost”. The “ghost” will stand on the base and count “One O’clock, Two O’clock etc. etc. up until Twelve O’clock where they yell “midnight!” While the “ghost” counts the other players hide. Then all the hiders try to run and touch or step on the home base before the “ghost” catches you or tags you. The last person to get tagged is the next “ghost”

5. Petrified Baseball

Equipment You’ll Need:

Volleyball

To play

Divide into two teams. The rules are similar to regular baseball except that a volleyball is used (no bats!) and the fielding team may not move their feet. It is best to keep your players in close without too much distance in between each other. The hitting team hits the volleyball with their hand, and crawls around the bases. To score a point, the batter must run around the bases on feet and hands (like a dog or horse) and back to home before the fielding team gets the ball to the catcher at home. If the fielding team gets the ball ahead of the batter, he is out. After three people are out, the teams trade places.
